Learn to hand-spin (£150 off per person)

Calling all crafters with an interest in learning to hand-spin….We have a couple of places left on our dye to hand spin course left and we are currently offering £150 off per person. It will be a wonderful craft holiday, with time to relax, be creative and learn or improve on a skill. We are running this week along side Bridie Pursey who has been spinning in the Highlands since the 1980’s and has spent many years teaching hand-spinning in Ullapool and Elphin, where she lives on her croft with her husband and her Shetland sheep. Like me, she seems to have an affinity with Shetland sheep. it is easy to see why, as they are such lovely gentle little sheep, easy to handle, hardy, with a great fleece and easy lambing.

 Dye to hand-spin week July 9th-16th 2016

Learn to hand-spin!

We are offering £150 off this craft holiday as we are keen to fill the last few places. The whole week gives guests a rare chance to learn the whole process, from our hand-shearing demonstrations, to washing and sorting fleece, picking dye plants, making natural dyes, to dyeing the fleece and spinning the end result! If you are not keen on the spinning part of the week you can join us and make a felted wall hanging over the last two days. We are very flexible and run the week in a relaxed way, giving guests an opportunity to enjoy every step.

We pick all our guests up from Inverness, so all they need to do is get there, which is very easy as Inverness has an airport (Easyjet and Flybe) or great train connections.

The perfect creative getaway!

We live in a stunning part of the Scottish Highlands, with Glen Affric on our door step and Loch Ness just 10 miles down the road. Scotland is the perfect place to come and learn wool craft as it has such a long history of working fleece and yarn. Our part of the Highlands is well known for its crafts people and has a a well attended Dyers, Spinners and Weavers Guild, as well as many home spinners and craft exhibitions and get together s.

If you are keen to find out more about our craft holidays and courses, please have a look at our website or contact us with any questions.
