Getting ready for natural dyeing

Finally the Gorse is out and now starts the tricky task of picking it without getting too scratched, being quick and using gloves is always good! The weather has been good to use and the plants have started to grow up here. Young shoots and leaves are always good for dyeing with as they give brighter stronger colours than older plant stuff. So… May is a great time to get the fires burning,

collect a bit of fleece and have a go. Early nettles, gorse flowers, rose leaves and dandelions  will all give lovely yellows and greens.

Our first natural dyeing workshop of the year is next weekend Saturday and Sunday May 14th-15th. If you would like to get started with your natural dyeing get in touch.
