Dye to Hand-Spin Course

We just finished running a wonderful week, our dye to hand-spin course was great fun to run and everyone achieved so much. We managed to wash our fleece, forage for dye plants, make our dyes, dye our beautiful Shetland fleeces and finally spin it!

Bridie started off showing everyone how to use a drop spindle and then we moved onto spinning wheels. At first everyone worked in pairs so they could help each other out and then everyone moved onto a wheel. We had 6 in the group, which was the perfect number, as there was lots of space, lots of chat and time to learn!  Five of the group were complete beginners and everyone managed by the end of the week to spin their own yarn.

We packed alot in the week but ran it at an easy pace, giving everyone time to enjoy the beautiful surroundings here..visiting Glen Affric and Plodda waterfalls.

This was a new course which we will definitely be running again next July.
